Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation tool included with Microsoft Office. PowerPoint allows you to make interactive multimedia slideshows to present information.

A PowerPoint Template is a file that can contain commonly used settings to make producing future PowerPoint Presentations and Shows easier. This is the macro-enabled version of a PowerPoint tempalte, which allows you to automate certain tasks within the Presentation or Show.

POTM PowerPoint Templates are different than the POT version in that they use the Microsoft Office Open XML format. The Open XML format makes it easy for other programs, such as Apache OpenOffice, to read POTM files (and other Open XML file types). The Open XML format was introduced with Microsoft Office 2007.
